• 血液は45%の細胞成分と55%の血漿成分から構成される。
• 弱アルカリ性(pH7.4)でやや粘稠の鮮紅色から暗赤色の体液 (HIS.189)
• 成人の血液量は約5L (HIS.189)
• 体重の1/13 (SP.484),体重の約7% (HIS.189), 体重の約8% (2007年度前期解剖学授業)
• 全血液量の約1/3が失われると死亡する
