治療
- 参考1より抜粋改変
- 生活指導：安静臥床は有効ではなく、段階的な日常活動への復帰が回復を促進する
- 肢痛の有無に関わらず、急性または再発性腰痛に対して、2-7日の安静臥床は、プラセボあるいは通常活動よりも悪化させる。安静臥床は、代替治療よりも有効ではない。
- 長期安静臥床は、衰弱、腰痛の慢性化、リハビリの支障につながることがある。
- 通常の活動を継続するようにという助言は、従来の通常活動は痛みによって判断するという助言よりも、症状回復を早くすることができ、慢性化は少なく、休業期間は短くなる。
- 短期間（数日または数週間）の段階的再活動化と腰痛の行動的管理を組み合わせると、痛みの程度と機能障害の回復速度にはほとんど差がないが、慢性化は少なく、休業期間は短くなる。
- 薬物療法
- 疼痛の除去：パラセタモール、パラセタモール・弱オピオイド化合物、NSAID
- その他の治療
- マッサージや超音波は、治療効果がない
- 牽引は効果がない
