Respiratory sounds, breath sounds, breathe sounds, or lung sounds refer to the specific sounds identified through auscultation of the respiratory system through the lung fields.[1] with a stethoscope. These include breath sounds and adventitious or "extra" sounds such as crepitations, wheezes, pleural rubs, and stridor. As well, "rhonchi" and "rales" are obsolete terminology whose use in the literature has been variable such that wheezes and crepitations have replaced their place for clarity.

- Computerized Respiratory Sounds Are a Reliable Marker in Subjects With COPD.
- Jácome C1, Marques A2.
- Respiratory care.Respir Care.2015 May 12. pii: respcare.03922. [Epub ahead of print]
- BACKGROUND: Computerized respiratory sounds have shown potential in monitoring respiratory status in patients with COPD. However, the variability and reliability of this promising marker in COPD are unknown. Therefore, this study assessed the variability and reliability of respiratory sounds at dist

- The locomotor-respiratory coupling (LRC) is a universal phenomenon reported for various forms of rhythmic exercise. In this study, we investigated the effect of movement and respiratory frequencies on LRC. Participants were instructed to cycle or breath in synchrony with a periodic auditory stimulat
