- 胆嚢の位置の異常である。
- 通常、胆嚢は体部と頚部の上面が肝床に結合織性に固定されているが、胆嚢間膜を介して肝下面より下垂しているものを遊走胆嚢と呼ぶ
- 胆嚢や胆嚢管の肝下面への固定が不完全なため、胆嚢は下垂し体位性に異常に可動する。
- 胆嚢間膜が大きく、胆嚢が大きく位置が変位するために右季肋部の鈍痛や激痛を呈する場合がある。特に胆嚢捻転症(ないし胆嚢軸捻転)により開腹手術を要する場合もあり、高齢女性に頻度が高い。
