特徴
- 泌尿器・生殖器の化膿性感染症の起因菌。菌血症を来たし、感染性心内膜炎や関節炎も起こしうる。産道感染による新生児膿漏眼も起こしうる
細菌学
- 尿道・性器分泌液のグラム染色で白血球に貪食されて増殖している像が観察される
検査
- 分離培養する場合には、直ちに培養を行い(死滅しやすいため)、また48時間以上培養しない(自己融解して死滅)
- カタラーゼ試験、オキシダーゼ試験:陽性
診断
- 尿道・性器分泌液のグラム染色で白血球に貪食されて増殖している像
