- I型．新生児の呼吸窮迫症候群(RDS)が先行する新生児慢性肺障害で、生後28日を超えて胸部X線上びまん性の泡沫状陰影もしくは不規則索状気腫状陰影を呈するもの
- II型．RDSが先行する新生児慢性肺障害で、生後28日を超えて胸部X線上びまん性の不透亮像を呈するも、泡沫状陰影もしくは不規則索状気腫状陰影には至らないもの
- III型．RDSが先行しない新生児慢性肺障害で、臍帯血のIgM高値、絨毛膜羊膜炎、臍帯炎など出生前感染の疑いが濃厚であり、かつ生後28日を超えて胸部X線上びまん性の不透亮像を呈するも、泡沫状陰影もしくは不規則索状気腫状陰影には至らないもの → ウィルソン・ミキティ症候群
- IV型．RDSが先行しない新生児慢性肺障害で、出生前感染に関しては不明であるが、生後28日を超えて胸部X線上びまん性泡沫状陰影もしくは不規則索状気腫状陰影を呈するもの。
- V型．RDSが先行しない新生児慢性肺障害で、生後28日を超えて胸部X線上びまん性の不透亮像を呈するも、泡沫状陰影もしくは不規則索状気腫状陰影には至らないもの。
