関: ストレス多血症、多血症、相対的赤血球増加症

赤血球増加症(循環血液量過多症；多血症)と高血圧を認めるものの脾腫は認めないのが特徴で、循環赤血球量は正常だが、循環血漿量が減少するために相対的赤血球増加症が生じる。
特にストレスの多い中年男性にみられることからストレス赤血球増加症(ストレス多血症)とも呼ばれる。
ヘマトクリットの上昇に伴い、心筋虚血や一過性脳虚血発作などを合併することがある。
