- Dysarthriaはかつては構音器官のレベルで生じる不完全な構音articulationの障害と定義された。しかし、その後、発声発語器官全体の(あるいはいずれかの)レベルで生じるspeechの障害として拡大して理解されるようになり、現在では広く共通の理解に至っている。すなわち、dysarthriaを「構音の障害」としてとらえる解釈は古典的定義であり、「speechの障害」としてとらえる解釈は今日の正しい定義である。(かつてわれわれはDysarthriaを「構音障害」と呼んでいた、といえる新たなる時代を迎えよう:小島氏への異論 西尾正輝 より抜粋)
