概念

筋肉の弛緩が障害された状態。
筋肉が収縮すると(筋線維の興奮すると)、弛緩した状態(筋線維の興奮状態が解除されづらい)に戻りにくい状態である。
筋肉自体に問題がある病態である。
筋肉を弛緩させてまた収縮させる動作を繰り返すことで通常の状態に戻すことが可能である(ウォームアップ現象)。
筋細胞膜の異常(イオンチャネル、イオンの透過性)の異常より菌活動電位が反復性に生じることで起こる。
末梢神経のブロックでも症状は消失しない(ミオパチーや神経筋接合部の問題はない)。
多くの場合、遺伝性神経障害に関連している。
