A merozoite surface protein is a protein molecule taken from the skin, or surface, of a merozoite. A merozoite is a "daughter cell" of a protozoan.
Merozoite surface proteins, or MSPs, are useful in researching malaria, a disease caused by protozoans.

- A central goal in vaccinology is the induction of high and sustained Ab responses. Protein-in-adjuvant formulations are commonly used to achieve such responses. However, their clinical development can be limited by the reactogenicity of some of the most potent preclinical adjuvants and the cost and

- Efficacy trials of antibody-inducing protein-in-adjuvant vaccines targeting the blood-stage Plasmodium falciparum malaria parasite have so far shown disappointing results. The induction of cell-mediated responses in conjunction with antibody responses is thought to be one alternative strategy that c
