- Cell loss due to apoptosis induced by oxidative stress is a major hurdle for endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs)-based therapy. Sirtuin 1 (SIRT1) plays important roles in many pathophysiological processes by deacetylating various substrates, including forkhead transcription factor (FOXO). However, a

- Differential centrifugation is sometimes considered a simpler form of centrifugation. It is used for separating cells and organelles while density gradient centrifugation is used for molecules and particles. The main difference between the two centrifugation methods is the type of physical properties in which the process is based on.
- Density gradient centrifugation, developed by Brakke (1951, 1960), is a method that can be used for both isolation and assay of plant viruses. It has proved to be a highly versatile technique and has been widely used in the fields of virology and molecular biology.
- Density gradient centrifugation, in its original and simplest form, is a mixture of particles layered over a medium whose density increases from top to bottom (A). In a short or slow centrifugation large particles sediment more rapidly than small particles (B).
