- Cutaneous nonmycotic T- and natural killer/T-cell lymphomas: Diagnostic challenges and dilemmas.
- Chuang SS1, Ko YH2.Author information 1Department of Pathology, Chi-Mei Medical Center, Tainan, Taiwan; Department of Pathology, National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan; Department of Pathology, Taipei Medical University, Taipei, Taiwan. Electronic address: cmh5301@mail.chimei.org.tw.2Department of Pathology, Samsung Medical Center, Sungkyunkwan University School of Medicine, Seoul, Korea.AbstractMycosis fungoides is the prototype of primary cutaneous T-cell lymphoma and is more common in the West than in the East, whereas nonmycotic primary cutaneous T-cell lymphoma is more frequent than mycosis fungoides among Asians. Nonmycotic primary cutaneous T-cell lymphomas comprise several categories of neoplasms and might pose diagnostic challenges because of the rarity of these lesions and overlapping features among certain entities. The authors recommend diagnostic approaches including histopathological evaluation, immunohistochemical markers, and ancillary studies. Diagnostic dilemma in certain entities and cases with atypical clinicopathological features are discussed.

- Pediatric Subcutaneous Panniculitis-Like T-Cell Lymphoma with Favorable Result by Immunosupressive Therapy: A Report of Two Cases.
- Nagai K1, Nakano N, Iwai T, Iwai A, Tauchi H, Ohshima K, Ishii E.Author information 11Department of Hematology and Oncology, Shikoku Medical Center for Children and Adults, Kagawa, Japan.AbstractSubcutaneous panniculitis-like T-cell lymphoma (SPTL) is a rare type of skin lymphoma. Histopathology mimicking a lobular panniculitis makes it difficult to distinguish SPTL from benign autoimmune disease. We present cases of a 10-year-old female and an 11-year-old male with SPTL showing recurrent panniculitis and systemic manifestations. Initially, antibiotics and steroids were administered to treat infectious disease and benign panniculitis. However, they experienced recurrent fever and erythema nodosum. Additional immunohistochemistry and T-cell receptor (TCR) gene rearrangement analyses were performed, enabling the establishment of an SPTL diagnosis. The affected patients were given immunosuppressive therapy with favorable results.
