核マトリックス蛋白質を抗原として作成された2種類のモノクローナル抗体には302-22と302-18があり、これらは核タンパク質のNMP22を認識する。この二つのモノクローナル抗体は細胞核内に存在する核有糸分裂装置タンパク質 NuMAを認識する。細胞核内に存在するNuMAが細胞死により可溶化型となり、体液中に出現した蛋白質がNMP22であり、モノクローナル抗体に認識される。尿中のNMP22は尿路上皮癌でで上昇する。診断、治療・再発モニタリングに有用とされる。
