The left coronary artery, abbreviated LCA and also known as the left main coronary artery (often abbreviated LMCA) or left main stem coronary artery (often abbreviated LMS), is an artery that arises from the aorta above the left cusp of the aortic valve and feeds blood to the left side of the heart.

Branching
It typically runs for 10 to 25 mm and then bifurcates into the anterior interventricular artery (also called left anterior descending (LAD)) and the left circumflex artery (LCX). Sometimes an additional artery arises at the bifurcation of the left main artery, forming a trifurcation; this extra artery is called the intermediate artery.[1]
The part that is between the aorta and the bifurcation only is known as the left main artery (LM), while the term 'LCA' might refer to just the left main, or to the left main and all its eventual branches.
A "first septal branch" is sometimes described.[2]

- BACKGROUND: Left ventricular dysfunction (LVD) is a condition resulting from clustered structural or functional cardiac disorder that reduces the ability of the ventricle to fill with or eject blood. The impaired ventricular function can be attributed to unfavorable ventricular remodeling. Among the

- BACKGROUND: Previous studies have advocated quantifying pulmonary regurgitation (PR) by using PR volume (PRV) instead of commonly used PR fraction (PRF). However, physicians are not familiar with the use of PRV in clinical practice. The ratio of right ventricle (RV) volume to left ventricle volume (
