- [Cystic teratoma of the pancreas].
- Shchegolev AI, Dubova EA, Chekmareva IA, Vtiurin BV, Mishnev OD.AbstractA case of pancreatic cystic teratoma is described in a 52-year-old woman. The tumor is macroscopically presented by an 8 x 8 x 7-cm multifocal cyst. Histological, immunohistochemical, and electron microscopic studies have revealed the derivatives of three germinal layers (ecto-, endo, and mesoderma).

- [Familial adenomatous polyposis: review of the literature and report of 3 cases].
- Bronzino P1, Rassu PC, Cassinelli G, Stanizzi T, Casaccia M.Author information 1Dipartimento Di.S.C.A.T (Dipartimento di Scienze Chirurgiche Specialistiche, Anestesiologia e Trapianti d'Organo), Università degli Studi di Genova.AbstractThe Authors describe three cases of Familial Adenomatous Polyposis, (FAP), in patients of the same family, mother and two daughters, with different stages of the disease. Familial adenomatous polyposis is a mendelian dominant inherited syndrome with an incidence of 1:11,000, caused by an alteration of APC gene, which causes multiple disorders of the development ecto-, endo- and mesoderma. The syndrome is characterized by the presence of adenomatous polyps in the gastroenteric tract, mostly in colon-rectum and duodenum with demonstrated adenoma-carcinoma sequence. In the family here reported a case of familial adenomatous polyposis at the adenomatous stage and two of cancer of colon-rectum are registered. In the first case surgery had a preventive aim, and ileo-rectal anastomosis was performed; in the other two cases the treatment was Miles operation with radical intention.

- [Localization of embryonal acetylcholinesterase during the early development of the chick embryo].
- Falugi C, Guastalla C, Faraldi G.AbstractThe presence of "embryonic" acetylcholinesterase activity, as described by Drews (1975) was investigated during early chick embryonic development, mainly in the following systems: a) primitive streak and Hensen's node during gastrulation movements; b) area opaca during blood islets and vessels differentiation; c) mesoderma of lateral laminae, during delamination movements. The demonstration of enzymic activity was performed with slightly modified histochemical methods. The enzyme was thus localized around the nuclei, in the cytoplasm and associated to plasma membrane of cells engaged in morphogenetic movements. The enzyme activity localized at the plasma membrane was supposed to be involved in the regulation of membrane functions concerning intercellular communications, such as inductive message, perhaps mediated by ion fluxes.
