ガイドラインより(参考1)

• 内頚動脈狭窄症において、頚動脈内膜剥離術の危険因子を持つ症例に対して､頚動脈ステント留置術を行うことが奨められる(グレードB)｡(参考1)

SAPPHIRE研究で規定されたCEA危険因子（少なくとも1つが該当）

• 心臓疾患(うっ血性心不全､冠動脈疾患､開胸手術が必要など)
• 重篤な呼吸器疾患
• 対側頚動脈閉塞
• 対側喉頭神経麻痺
• 頚部直達手術､または頚部放射線治療の既往
• CEA再狭窄例
• 80歳以上
