予後

エーングレン線(Öhngren線)が予後を決定する指標となる。この平面より上に腫瘍が伸展する場合予後不良であり、この平面より下に進展する場合は予後良好である。つまり、上顎癌の進展により症状が出やすいか出にくいかにより予後が決定される。従って、下方進展、前方進展、内方進展では症状が現れやすく予後良好と判断される。
頭蓋内合併症は多くは末期症例に診られる。篩骨蜂巣から篩板あるいは前頭蓋底を破壊して脳硬膜に浸潤してびまん性髄膜炎を併発したりするため、予後不良となる。
