Deiter's Cells (or phalangeal cells) are a cell type found within the inner ear. It contain both micro-filaments and micro-tubules which run from the basilar membrane to the reticular membrane of the inner ear.[1] These cochlear supporting cells comprise: a somatic part with its cupula and a phalangeal process which links the Deiters soma to the reticular lamina. The part of the phalanx which is included in the reticular lamina is the apex of the phalanx (phalangeal apex).

- A representative phenotype of patients with tricho-rhino-phalangeal syndrome (TRPS) is sparse hair. To understand the developmental defects of these patient's hair follicles, we analyzed the development of hair follicles histologically and biochemically using Trps1 deficient (KO) mice. - Giant cell tumor of the bone is a benign, but locally aggressive, primary bone tumor of unknown origin. It most commonly occurs in the long bones and is only rarely found in the phalangeal bones, such as the distal phalanx of the foot. In our review of English-language published studies, only 4 othe
