背側原基の導管(Santorini管)が膵頚部で腹側原基の導管(Wirsung管)と癒合せず、膵体尾部の膵液が副膵管を通って副乳頭へ流れる奇形である。
主乳頭から膵管造影するとき、膵頚部で樹枝状に細くなって終わる完全型(complete pancreas divisum)と背側膵の膵管と連結する不完全型(incomplete pancreas divisum)がある。
多くは無症状であるが、膵液の通過障害により慢性膵炎を生じる可能性が高い。
原因不明の上腹部痛の原因となることがある。
治療は小乳頭形成術などが行われる。
