A filamentous bacteriophage is a type of bacteriophage, or virus of bacteria, defined by its filament-like or rod-like shape. Filamentous phages usually contain a genome of single-stranded DNA and infect Gram-negative bacteria.[1][2][3]
Types of filamentous phage
- Ff phages - these infect E. coli that carry the F episome.
- M13 bacteriophage
- f1 phage
- fd phage
