Cacosmia is a genus of flowering plants in the aster family, Asteraceae. The three species are native to South America, where two are endemic to Ecuador, and the third is distributed in Ecuador and Peru.[1]
The genus name is derived from the Greek kakos ("bad, ugly") and -osma ("smell, stink, fragrant odour, scent, perfume").[2]
