The London School of Musical Theatre (LSMT) is based in Borough Road, Southwark, south London, England. It was founded by Glenn Lee. The school is owned by Principal/Course Producer Adrian Jeckells.
LSMT recognises that, for many mature students, a three-year course is unnecessary and that, with intensive training, individuals can become employable within a year
The London School of Musical Theatre provides a bespoke one year full-time vocational intensive training course for those wishing to enter musical theatre. The course is designed for 'triple theatre' with an emphasis on singing, together with dance and drama. Many students go on to West End shows, television and film.[citation needed]
The ethos of LSMT is to create the environment of a professional company in rehearsal rather than that of an educational institution. The emphasis of the course is on the development of the singing voice as the tool for acting through song. Classes are taught by professionals and practitioners working in the industry, with direct experience of the up to the minute requirements of musical theatre.
