  • 2. 神経細胞内のCa2+濃度が上昇すると、シナプス顆粒が開口分泌され、神経伝達物質であるアセチルコリンがシナプス間隙に放出される。
  • 3. アセチルコリンはシナプス間隙を経て筋細胞膜上のアセチルコリン受容体に結合する。
  • 4. アセチルコリン受容体は陽イオンチャネルであり、一時的に陽イオンを透過させ、筋細胞膜を脱分極する。
  • 5. アセチルコリンはアセチルコリンエステラーゼによりコリンに分解されて、神経細胞に取り込まれる。
  • 6. 筋細胞で局所的な脱分極が起こると、周辺の電位依存性Na+チャネルが開き、脱分極が筋細胞全体に広がる。
  • 7. 脱分極はT細管に伝わり、T細管に存在する電位依存性のタンパク質の構造を変化させ、筋小胞体の特殊な構造である終末槽上のCa2+放出チャネルを開く。
  • 8. 筋小胞体中のCa2+が細胞質に拡散する。
  • 9. ここで、筋収縮に関わるアクチンフィラメントにトロポミオシンとトロポニンが結合し、収縮開始を妨げているが、Ca2+がトロポニンに結合すると、トロポミオシンがアクチンフィラメント上で場所を変える。
  • 10. この結果、トロポミオシンが覆い隠していたアクチンフィラメントのミオシン結合部位が露出する。
  • 11. ミオシンはATPの加水分解のエネルギーを使って、アクチンフィラメントに結合できる構造をとり、アクチンに結合する。
  • 12. ミオシンがアクチンフィラメントで首振り運動をすることで筋収縮が起こる。
