• グリコーゲンはグリコーゲンホスホリラーゼにより分解が進む。

• The terminal glucosyl residues from the outermost chains of the glycogen molecule are removed sequentially until approximately four glucose residues remain on either side of a 1→6 branch.

• グリコーゲンホスホリラーゼは1→6 branchから4糖単位までしか分解できないので、α(1→4)グリコシルトランスフェラーゼが3糖単位を別の枝に移す。

transfers a trisaccharide unit from one　branch to the other, exposing the 1→6 branch point.

• 1→6 linkagesで結合した単糖単位が残るがこれは脱分枝酵素が担う。
