The stifle is a joint in the legs of horses, dogs, and other animals, equivalent to the knee in humans. The stifle joint is formed by 3 bones: the femur, patella, and tibia. The large joint consists of 3 smaller ones: femoropatellar, medial femorotibial, and lateral femorotibial joint.
