Phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (diphosphate) (EC 4.1.1.38, phosphopyruvate carboxylase, phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase, PEP carboxyphosphotransferase, PEP carboxykinase, phosphopyruvate carboxykinase (pyrophosphate), PEP carboxylase, phosphoenolpyruvic carboxykinase, phosphoenolpyruvic carboxylase, phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase, phosphoenolpyruvate carboxytransphosphorylase, phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase, phosphoenolpyruvic carboxykinase, PEPCTrP, phosphoenolpyruvic carboxykinase (pyrophosphate), phosphoenolpyruvic carboxylase (pyrophosphate), phosphoenolpyruvate carboxyphosphotransferase, phosphoenolpyruvic carboxytransphosphorylase, phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase (pyrophosphate), phosphopyruvate carboxylase (pyrophosphate), diphosphate:oxaloacetate carboxy-lyase (transphosphorylating)) is an enzyme with system name diphosphate:oxaloacetate carboxy-lyase (transphosphorylating; phosphoenolpyruvate-forming).[1] This enzyme catalyses the following chemical reaction
- diphosphate + oxaloacetate phosphate + phosphoenolpyruvate + CO2
This enzyme also catalyses the reaction:
- phosphoenolpyruvate + phosphate pyruvate + diphosphate.

- Ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase (RubisCO) catalyzes the assimilation of atmospheric CO(2) into organic matter and is thus central to the existence of life on earth. The beginning of the 2000s was marked by the discovery of a new family of proteins, the RubisCO-like proteins (RLPs), w
