- [Vegetative status in pregnant and perimenopausal women with hypertension].
- Striuk RI, Golikova AA, Brytkova IaV, Abdurazakova AM.AbstractWe observed 137 patients, 72 of whom (53%) had hypertension in II trimester of pregnancy, and 65 patients (47%) who had hypertension in perimenopausal period. The comprehensive clinical and instrumental examination was carried out in all patients, including simultaneous 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure (BP) recording (with BP pattern), assessment of vegetative tone using the vegetative index (index Kerdo). Sympathetic/adrenergic activity (SAA) was quantified as β-receptor binding (β-RB). Hypertension in pregnant women is associated with increased activity of the sympathetic-adrenal system, as evidenced by high values of β-ARM, the Kerdo index and the presence of correlation between these parameters. Parasympathicotonia in perimenopausal women prevails.

- [Somatic-autonomic disturbances in different types of depression].
- Vertogradova OP, Dikov SIu.AbstractTo reveal correlations between the structure of somatic-autonomic disorders and types of depression - melancholic, anxious, apathic authors studied 102 patients, aged from 20 to 50 years, with depression of mild (23 patients) or moderate (79) severity; 12 patients with bipolar affective disorder, 24 - with depressive episode, 66 - with recurrent depressive disorder. Hamilton depression scale, methods for study of somatic-autonomic disturbances and predominance of sympathicotonia or parasympathicotonia were used. Somatic-autoniomic disorders were presented in all types of depression, mostly in anxious depressions, lastly - in apathic depresions, melancholic depressions were in intermediate position. For each depression, common and specific somatic-autonomic disorders were found which correlated with type of leading affect and structure of depressive syndrome.

- [Hemodynamics, the autonomic nervous system and water metabolism as criteria for developing the general adaptation syndrome in pregnant women].
- Gur'ianov VA, Shepetovskaia NL, Pivovarova GM, Tolmachev GN, Volodin AV.AbstractBy taking into account the fact that the autonomic nervous and cardiovascular systems (ANS and CVS) are the major links of development of the general adaptation syndrome in pregnancy, which are affected by all the processes involved in the development of the syndrome, the author analyzed the state of these systems in healthy non-pregnant and pregnant women (HNPW and HPW) and in pregnant women with gestosis. HNPW were found to have already a prerequisite for impairing pregnancy adaptive processes as ANS and CVS dysfunction. In HPW, these impairments were more pronounced. In the pregnant women, impaired adaptive processes manifested themselves as excess sympathicotonia in 72% and parasympathicotonia in 23% of cases despite the treatment performed, which was accompanied by hypokinetic hemodynamics in 53 and 50%, respectively. In hyper- and eukinetic hemodynamics, there were no physiologically required decreases in total peripheral vascular resistance while in hypokinetic hemodynamics, there was its pathological increase. Such disorders enhance the significance of abdominal compartment syndrome, aortocaval compression, ischemia-reperfusion, hydrodynamic and membranogenic (capillary leakage) factors of impaired water metabolism, which contributes to adaptation derangement. Based on the findings, the authors have created a developmental modulation algorithm for the general adaptation syndrome by completed pregnancy and surgical delivery.
