Lysophosphatidylserine is a lysophospholipid which triggers TLR 2.
A recent study showed that it does not stimulate normal leukocytes.[1] It also enhances glucose transport, lowering blood glucose levels while leaving secretion of insulin unaffected.[2]

- Polarity is key to the function of eukaryotic cells. On the establishment of a polarity axis, cells can vectorially target secretion, generating an asymmetric distribution of plasma membrane proteins. From Saccharomyces cerevisiae to mammals, the small GTPase Cdc42 is a pivotal regulator of polarity

- Recent studies suggest that CNS phospholipase A(2) (PLA(2)) isoforms play a role in nociception, but until now, direct evidence of increased brain PLA(2) activity during allodynia or hyperalgesia is lacking.
