Forenoon is the part of the day between sunrise and noon.[1]
The term should not be confused with "fore noon" (two separate words), which is a translation of the Latin ante meridiem (a.m.), meaning a time between 12:00 midnight and 12:00 midday.

- Impact of meteorological parameters on the development of fine and coarse particles over Delhi.
- Trivedi DK1, Ali K2, Beig G2.Author information 1Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, Pune 411 008, India. Electronic address: trivedi@tropmet.res.in.2Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, Pune 411 008, India.AbstractMeasurements of ambient particulate matters (viz., PM10 and PM2.5) were made with an hourly sampling frequency at Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), New Delhi Branch (a residential area) during a period from December 2010 to November 2011. The data so generated were analyzed to understand frequency distribution of their concentrations and the impact of meteorological parameters on the distribution of particulate matters on different time scales. It is found that the particulate matters with cut off aerodynamic diameter of 10μm (PM10) preferentially occurred in the concentration range of 301-350μg/m(3) during winter and post-monsoon, 251-300μg/m(3) during summer and 51-100μg/m(3) during monsoon season. The particulate matters with cut off aerodynamic diameter of 2.5μm (PM2.5) preferentially occurred in the concentration range of 201-250μg/m(3) during winter and 51-100μg/m(3) during the remaining seasons. The concentration of particulate matters (PM10 and PM2.5) remained always above the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) except during monsoon season. Annual distribution of the concentration of particulate matters showed seasonality with maximum in winter and minimum in monsoon season. Diurnal variation of PM10 and PM2.5 showed bimodal distribution with one maximum in the forenoon and the other at around mid-night. The observed seasonality and diurnal variability in the distribution are attributed mainly to the meteorology.

- Relationship Between Time of Day Physical Exercise and the Reduced Risk of Coronary Artery Disease in a Chinese Population.
- Zhao H1, Chu XQ, Lian XQ, Wang ZM, Gao W, Wang LS.Author information 1Department of Cardiology, the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University, Nanjing, China.AbstractPurpose: Exercise leads to a lower risk of coronary artery disease (CAD). However, whether time of day physical exercise has effects on CAD is still unclear. The present study is to investigate the relationship between time of day physical exercise and angiography determined CAD in a Chinese population. Subjects: A total of 1129 consecutive participants who underwent coronary angiography for the first time were enrolled in our study. Participants were divided into Non-CAD group and CAD group according to the result of coronary angiography. We used a pre-designed questionnaire, the work-related activity, leisure-time activity, and physical exercise information were recorded in the form of self-reporting. Results: Doing physical exercise was associated with a reduced risk of CAD, after adjusting the established and potential confounders, with an adjusted OR of 0.48 (95% CI, 0.35-0.67) compared with those who did not any physical exercise. Moreover, the risk of CAD could linearly decrease with increase of intensity, duration and frequency of exercise. Further stratification analysis revealed that the protective effects of exercise were more significant in the afternoon and evening group than in the morning and forenoon group. The adjusted ORs of doing physical exercise in morning, forenoon, afternoon, and evening groups were 0.53 (0.36-0.78), 0.51(0.27-0.96), 0.46(0.25-0.85), 0.43(0.28-0.66), respectively, compared to non-exerciser (P<0.05). Conclusions: Doing physical exercise can decrease the risk of CAD, and exercising in the afternoon or evening may have more significant effects on the prevention of CAD than in other time of day.

- Diurnal and seasonal variations of surface albedo in a spring wheat field of arid lands of Northwestern China.
- Zhang YF1, Wang XP, Pan YX, Hu R.Author information 1Shapotou Desert Research and Experiment Station, Cold and Arid Regions Environmental and Engineering Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences, 320 Donggang West Road, Lanzhou 730000, China.AbstractSurface albedo greatly affects the radiation energy balance of croplands and is a significant factor in crop growth monitoring and yield estimation. Precise determination of surface albedo is thus important. This study aimed to examine the influence of growth stages (tillering, jointing, heading, filling and maturity) on albedo and its diurnal asymmetry by measuring diurnal albedo variations. Results indicated that the daily mean surface albedo generally exhibited an increased tendency during tillering to heading but decreased after heading. Surface albedos were much higher in the morning than the corresponding values of the same solar elevation angles in the afternoon when the solar elevation angle was less than 40°, indicating a diurnal asymmetry in surface albedo. However, less difference was found in surface albedos between forenoon and afternoon when the solar elevation angle was greater than 40°. Dew droplets on the leaf surface in the morning were assumed to be the main factor resulting in the diurnal asymmetry in albedo of spring wheat.
