In medicine, fasciitis /ˌfæʃiˈaɪtɪs/ is an inflammation of the fascia,^[1] which is the connective tissue surrounding muscles, blood vessels and nerves.

In particular, it often involves one of the following diseases:

Necrotizing fasciitis
Plantar fasciitis
Eosinophilic fasciitis
Paraneoplastic fasciitis
