- ピシリケッチア症の診断法として16S rDNAを標的とするPCRによる原因菌の検出が報告されているが、そのプライマー領域の塩基配列に変異を生じている菌株が存在する。そこで、新たに特異的なプライマーを設計した結果、特異性と検出感度が向上した。さらに、本PCRにより人為感染魚の肝臓と腎臓からP. salmonisが検出された。従って、本PCRはピシリケッチア症の診断に利用できると考えられた。
