- CD22 is an adhesion molecule and prossesses lectin activity mediated by the first N-terminal Ig-like domain.(WCH.36)
- CD22 binds to CD45RO and CDw75.(WCH.36)
- CD22-deficident mice develop hight tires of high-affinity autoantibodies.(WCH.36)
- CD22 is "masked" on resting B cells, unavailable for binding to its normal ligands. Release from this "masking" is necessary for CD22 to bind to its sialic acid ligands and exert the negative regulatory function on B-cell activation.(WCH.36)
