- 免疫機構活性化の一指標
- 分子量70kdのp70（β鎖）と分子量55kdのTac抗原（α鎖）と呼ばれている2種類のサブユニットからなる蛋白
- 前者が休止期のリンパ球にも発現しているのに対して後者はリンパ球活性化の後に初めて見出される。
- 造血器悪性腫瘍、ウイルス感染、リウマチ等において上昇し、病勢を反映する指標として用いられており、臨床的には腫瘍マーカーとして用いられている。
- リンパ球活性化状態においてTac抗原が末梢血中に可溶性の形でも存在することが明らかになり、可溶性インターロイキン2受容体と名付けられた。
- sIL-2RはIL-2との結合性を保持することから、生体の免疫調節にも関与していると推定されている。
