症例は61歳と52歳の女性全身性強皮症患者。2例とも下剤や消化管運動改善薬内服などの治療に抵抗性の慢性，難治性イレウス症状を繰り返していた。オクトレオチド100μg/日連日皮下注射により症状は改善し，その後，投与間隔を漸次延長することで長期間，比較的良好に腹部症状をコントロールできた。オクトレオチド皮下注射は強皮症に伴う偽性腸閉塞に試みる価値のある治療法と思われ，文献的考察を加え報告した。
