Streptomyces roseosporusの発酵産物から得られた抗菌薬/抗生物質。

  • 13個のアミノ酸残基からなり、そのうち10アミノ酸残基が環を形成し、N末端のトリプトファンにデカノイル基が結合している。
  • メチシリン耐性黄色ブドウ球菌(MRSA)を含む、Staphylococcus属、Enterococcus属、Streptococcus属といった、臨床上重要なグラム陽性菌に対し殺菌作用を示す。
  • 作用機序:細胞の構成要素であるペプチドグリカンの合成阻害、細胞透過性の破壊、リポタイコ酸合成阻害、細胞膜電位の破壊など
  • 耐性を取られにくい
  • 生体利用率は悪く点滴静注のみ
  • 代謝:80%が肝臓で代謝される。
  • 生体移行性:軟部組織への移行性は良好。肺胞内では肺サーファクタントと結合して抗菌活性が低下する。
  • 濃度依存性
  • postantibiotic effectを有する
  • 全てのグラム陽性球菌に有効。
  • グラム陰性桿菌には活性がない。
